Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira joined Fiorentina on loan last season. Has revealed a message from Mikel Arteta about his future at the Emirates his stadium.

   Lucas Torreira has revealed ‘no chance’ of him staying at Arsenal in the final year of his contract. The Uruguay international impressed during his loan spell with Serie A club Fiorentina last season. But the Italian has refused to pay the €15 million (£12.6 million) fee on the Gunners’ option to buy. Which is included in the loan deal.

           Torreira has made it clear he wants to extend his stay at Fiorentina. But Arsenal are not satisfied with the efforts of the Italian club. Trying to reduce the cost of this midfield down. The Gunners are still aiming to strengthen their midfield options before the end of the summer. But Torreira claims he has been told it will not be part of Mikel Arteta’s plans.

           Asked about the prospect of staying at Arsenal, Torreira told El Telegrafo : “There is no chance.” “In the beginning they told me there was no place for me. So I don’t want to be with you either because I’m having a hard time. I was very damaged by adaptation and my idea was to go to Italy or Spain.” “What I want is to stay in Fiorentina. But it didn’t happen for a number of reasons. So we will look for a new way.”

           When asked about the possibility of a move to Boca Juniors, Torreira replied: “Boca was very difficult.” “It was difficult after what happened to my mother. And I really want to go there. Then I had a very good season. And I still have one year left on my contract with Arsenal.” “Every team that wants me has to buy me. Which is probably around 15 million euros, that’s why I think it’s difficult. Although I never lost hope I really loved that club and at some point I wanted to play there.”

          Torreira made 35 Serie A appearances last season. But the Blue Devils refused to pay the £13 million fee that Arsenal had set and tried to negotiate a lower price. The Uruguayan star has clearly expressed his frustration on social media. By attacking people who made his permanent transfer to be so difficult , now there is one year left in the agreement with the London club. But he found himself out of demand at the Emirates and his number 11 shirt has already been passed to Gabriel Martinelli this summer.
